Sukhrob is a singer, songwriter and activist from Tajikistan.
Tajikistan’s human rights record continues to deteriorate amid an ongoing crackdown on freedom of expression and the political opposition, as well as the targeting of independent lawyers, journalists, and family members of opposition activists abroad.

Sukhrob had to flee Tajikistan after protesting against the regime.
He arrived in the UK in October 2021 & is currently waiting for his asylum claim to be processed. He is currently living in a refugee hotel.
He is not allowed to have his keyboard in the hotel and has to keep it at a friend's house. This makes it difficult for him to practice, or meet other musicians to play with.
People waiting for asylum claims in the UK are not allowed to work. The UK is the only country in Europe, which does not have a limit on how long an asylum claim can take to process, in some cases, people have waited over a decade and still have not had a result.
